OHIO’s mission is to champion the One Health framework throughout India by:
Fostering Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Bringing together experts from various fields to work on health issues that span human, animal, and environmental domains.
Advancing Research: Supporting and facilitating research on emerging health threats, zoonotic diseases, and environmental impacts on health.
Influencing Policy: Collaborating with policymakers to shape and implement policies that embrace the One Health approach.
Engaging Communities: Raising awareness and involving communities in One Health initiatives to drive grassroots improvements in health and well-being.
Objectives
Promote One Health Integration
Advocate for the incorporation of One Health principles into public health, veterinary, and environmental policies and practices.
Advance Research
Facilitate and support interdisciplinary research on emerging health threats, zoonotic diseases, and environmental impacts on health.
Enhance Education and Training
Provide educational programs and training for professionals, students, and communities on One Health concepts and practices.
Influence Policy
Work with policymakers to develop and implement policies that support the One Health framework and address critical health issues.
Engage Communities
Increase public awareness and involve communities in One Health initiatives to improve health outcomes at the grassroots level.
Foster Collaboration
Build partnerships with government agencies, academic institutions, private sector organizations, NGOs, and international bodies to enhance collective efforts and resource-sharing.
