One Health India Organization (OHIO) is a national interdisciplinary platform dedicated to promoting the One Health approach—recognizing that the health of people is closely connected to the health of animals and our shared environment.

Founded as a sister concern of the Biobank India Foundation (BBIF), OHIO builds on BBIF’s legacy in biomedical research and public health innovation to foster cross-sector collaboration, education, and policy advocacy. We aim to create a unified front against modern health threats such as zoonotic diseases, antimicrobial resistance (AMR), food safety challenges, and climate-related health issues.

Our Story: One Health India was conceived by a group of scientists, clinicians, veterinarians, and environmental experts working with the Biobank India Foundation. They recognized that siloed responses to disease outbreaks, pandemics, and environmental degradation were no longer sufficient. There was a need for a coordinated, collaborative, and cross-disciplinary effort. Thus, OHIO was launched to lead India’s growing One Health movement and serve as a catalyst for action and integration across sectors.

Our Mission: To promote and implement the One Health approach in India through research, capacity building, stakeholder engagement, and policy support—ensuring that human, animal, and environmental health systems are integrated and resilient.

Our Vision: A healthier, more sustainable India where collaboration across disciplines is the norm, not the exception—protecting lives, ecosystems, and future generations.

🔍 What We Do
